PADDY

Dear Liz,

We took home the littlest black puppy from the Ice and Cody litter that was born on 6/22/17.  We wanted to let you know that we are so grateful for this little guy!!!

We named him Paddy, after a mischievous and happy-go-lucky British spy from World War II (Sir Paddy Leigh Fermor).  He is now just over 6 months old, and he weighs about 35 pounds now.  He is mostly black, but is lighter around his little nose, and also has a silver spot on his tail, so we wonder if he will end up being a little more silver like his mom.

He is simply the best dog we could have ever imagined.  He has a fantastic temperament.  He is friendly to all people and dogs that he meets.  Even though he is very young still, he is particularly gentle with babies and children.  There is not an ounce of aggression in him.  He loves nothing more than being with his pack (my husband and I), cuddling on the sofa, getting belly rubs, and chasing his ball.  He enjoys camping, hiking, long drives, and the beach.  He went to Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy I classes with us at Sirius Puppy Training, and he did great!  He has been very well socialized.  Everyone who meets him loves him and says he’s incredibly cute.  He made us many new friends in the neighborhood, and I think more of our neighbors know Paddy’s name than know ours!  He just loves being with people and has lots of personality.

We have noticed that he has this amusing tendency of jumping in place when he wants to play or wants more food, tucking his legs in at the top to get more air.  What a goof ball!  Do most labradoodles do this, or have you heard that other siblings from his litter do this?  He’s also in excellent health.  He has some very mild eye allergies, but these are well-controlled by simply wiping away any morning sleep from his eyes.  All of our friends with allergies are fine with him, and he also doesn’t shed at all.  Most people who pet him comment that he has the softest coat!  We recently took Paddy to visit the senior living center and nursing homes where each of my grandmothers live – the residents simply loved him, and he was so perfect and gentle!

We couldn’t imagine life without our little Paddy.  He brightens our lives every single day.  Thank you so much for the best dog!!!  I hope you have more litters planned for Cody and Ice, because this guy is really a gem.  Please let us know if you have any questions about him.  Thank you so much for our amazing little family member!  I’m attaching two recent photos for you to see how incredibly adorable he is. 🙂

Thank you!

Andrea (and Tristan)
